What to Pack for a Day on the Boat

All great adventures start with a boat trip. The preparation for a day on the boat doesn’t have to be stressful. We’re here to help you out! We’ve put together a checklist for your boat adventures. No need to stress, just go through the list and you can begin your day on the boat without the worry of forgetting something important.

Here are a few of the many things you will want to remember to pack when you are heading to the boat (get our complete free, printable boat bag checklist here).

  • Towels – at least one for each person. Sitting on a towel keeps your legs and back from sticking on the seat and you have it for any sudden splashes and swims along the way.

  • Terry Tethers – if you are bringing a towel, you will definitely want to take along your Terry Tethers. Luckily they are small and easily pack in a small bag or wrap around the handles of your boat bag. The last thing you want is to be fussing with the towel behind your back the whole trip.

  • Sunscreen – protect your skin from the sun. We like to apply our sunscreen before we leave and then toss it back in the bag for reapplication while we are on the water. Make sure you have plenty!

  • Hat – Bring a hat for extra sun protection while you enjoy the day. Tip: Use your Terry Tether to attach it to the boat while you are driving so it doesn’t fly out of the boat.

  • Sunglasses – No one wants to squint while they are trying to enjoy the beauty of being on the water.

  • Drinks and Snacks – thirst and the munchies happen to us all. Be sure to pack some water, specialty drinks and snacks for the trip.

These are just a few of the necessities. Be sure to download the printable, full Boat Packing Checklist to be prepared!
